➔ MEETING ALL THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA ?


Applying is quite simple. All you have to do is…

  • Submit a Business Plan or a PowerPoint presentation;
  • Include the resume of all founders, external advisors and members of the advisory committee;
  • Attach the financial forecasts for the next 2 years;
  • Enclose the financial statements for the past 2 years when available;
  • Fill out and submit the form below;
  • Return your information via email addressed to: cperron@ceim.org

TARGET AUDIENCE

➔ MAIN OBJECTIVE :


The S.I.J. program is a two-part program designed to provide entrepreneurs with the financial support that they need to launch their startup or acquire a business.

➔ THE TWO COMPONENTS OF THE PROGRAM:

FOUNDERS

  • The eligible entrepreneur(s) must hold the majority (more than 50%) of the company’s ordinary shares, or hold them jointly with the other eligible entrepreneurs, if applicable;
  • The company has been in operation for less than five years;
  • The business term loan can range from $50,000 to $200,000;
  • We request the presence of a mentor or advisory committee;
  • Prepare a comprehensive Business Plan or PowerPoint presentation and assess the company’s financial needs;
  • Submit the required documents, according to the program component that applies.

ACQUIRERS

  • The eligible entrepreneur must hold the majority (more than 50%) of the company’s ordinary shares, or hold them jointly with the other eligible entrepreneurs, if applicable;
  • The company must have been in operation for more than two years and demonstrate that it has successfully completed its start-up phase;
  • The entrepreneur must submit his request for financial support to the S.I.J. before the transaction closes;
  • Entrepreneurs are not eligible if they are already shareholders in the company in question;
  • The business term loan can range from $50,000 to $200,000;
  • We request the presence of a mentor or advisory committee;
  • The S.I.J. limits its financial contribution to 45% of overall financial needs. Overall financial needs are defined here as the total purchase price of the ordinary shares and additional long-term funding required by the company.

OUR MISSION

The Société d’Investissement Jeunesse (S.I.J.) aims to promote entrepreneurship, foster economic development and create jobs
by supporting young entrepreneurs wishing to start or acquire a business.

➔ OUR OFFERING:


The S.I.J. offers loans to entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 to 40, providing them with the financial support that they need to launch their startup or acquire a business. This loan can be granted to all innovative and technology-based companies across Quebec under the terms of the Founders and Acquirers program components.

The S.I.J.’s financial capacity comes from its own Financial Assistance Fund. Appraisal of all projects submitted to the S.I.J. are carried out, based on a business approach and market laws.

In addition, projects must imperatively create jobs and produce economic impact.
Business continuity is assured through rigorous investment management and low management user fees.

Loans ranging from $50,000 to $200,000 awarded to companies
led by entrepreneurs aged 18 to 40
